should i move to zürich?

hello everyone,
i recently left zürich and am now in london. i have the option of either staying in london and accept a job offer i got here or move back to zürich. i lived in zürich for 5 years and left due to family issues back home.

so tell me if you had the choice between living and working in a new place to experience a different culture or going back to live in a country and city you know what would you do?

ciao

Some family background would be helpful :-) If you are single and wild then I suggest London is the place to be. If you have family or just want to chill then CH is the place to be.

Re: should i move to zürich?

I like to take chances, I took the chance to leave australia 6 years ago to live in zürich and am willing to take the chance again somewhere else....it would be exciting to live in london, but i also liked living in zürich.

i am single...left my swiss partner when i left zürich end of 2005. i loved switzerland as i could do all the sporting activities like mountain biking, hiking, skiiing...not sure how readily one is able to do this in london or england without having to travel a long distance before hand.

Stay in London. Party hard. Work hard. Paint the town red for a couple of years. Find a good woman that wants to make a new start. Move to Switzerland with the promise of a new life and ....relax.

Return to London every four weeks to get a fix of excitement , then come back and ...relax.

Repeat until retired.

I lived 10+ years in London and I preffer it here. I did lot of naughty stuff in London :-) I love London! In my view the girls are slightly better here...better quality Depends what you are after though. For outdoor stuff CH is definitely a better option.

If your job is in Central London, you will be forced into a social life of some sort, as people don't want to go home in the rush hour. Join a few clubs go to some organised social events, and you will find it difficult not to meet people over there. Become a hedonist, drink Cosmopolitans in the Match bar, wallow in your anonymity and celebrate the fact you are on the rebound.

Well, from what I understand from both female and male friends finding a man in Zurich to cement a long term relationship is not the easiest. At least not for an expat. So, if finding a man is amongst your top goals, stay in London. After all, there are plenty of expats there too in case you are not into the "london" type

my ultimate goal is not to look for a man..i am looking after myself and my happiness at the moment and to just have fun. if a man comes along lucky for him to have found me!

Stay in London where you have a job. I made the mistake of moving back to this country and am stuck here with no job now at 55 because swiss use your professionalism whilst you're young and then discriminate when you're older

judging from your posts in the last few hours (in fact your whole time as a member) and looking at your location (Shitzerland, you must have taken ages to think of that ), I'd say your advice is hardly impartial. In fact, you seem to exhibit classic bi-polar symptoms. Seek help!

Re: should i move to zürich?

I worked in London for 12 years, and as has been said it's a great city if you are footloose and fancy free. On the sport front it can be a bit of a drag getting to any nice countryside though if your job will fund it, it is quite quick to get to the alps out of city airport via geneva, we used to do regular long weekends. Oh and the public transport system is falling to pieces.

Typical response from dumb moderators on this site, where do they find you prats? People seach for advice, it's given by other members based on their personal experiences and you prick moderators jump in criticising members responses. Why don't you help answer the query instead of criticising, you narrow minded petty f...k. No wonder there are only a handful of members with twats like you around. Get a real life, wanker.

This language is totally unnecessary. I do wish you would leave this site and stop being so offensive.

you'll certainly judge me now that I've banned you for three days. Calm down, try and be positive and stop jumping to conclusions.

with the anger levels you're showing, I do really believe you need help. Stop ruining this place for others; if you really think it is that shit, don't visit. Period.
