I have a delicate twisted engagement ring that I have long been searching for a wedding ring to fit with it. I came to the conclusion that I was going to have to have one custom made.
Went to goldsmith today;
E ring is quite thin behind finger;
"Oh I don't want to make a ring that thin, so they wouldn't fit properly together"
E ring also has had beads fitted inside to stop it twisting on my weird finger;
"Oh I don't like beads, I wouldn't put them in, so rings wouldn't sit right next to each other"
But I need them;
"I don't like them, don't do them" ........ (They are good enough for Kate Middleton FFS. And she seemed to think they were to make the ring smaller rather than stop it twisting)
"Ring is too difficult to shape a wedding ring for, would cost at least 1500chf as it would be so difficult"
WTF... who is the customer here? And I know this isn't a difficult request as I've researched this on goldsmith websites
. I got home, an emailed a goldsmith near my parents, as I am going back to the UK in a week. Sent pictures of e-ring.
"No problem, I can do that, £350 including re-plating e-ring"
