First Swiss cinema visit

I'm planning to take my daughter to see the Minions movie at Sihl City today.

It'll be the first time I've been to the cinema in Switzerland since moving here, and it will also be the first time ever for my 4 year old daughter.

My question though, is will she be allowed in? The movie is rated a K/6
I did see somewhere that there's an allowance of 2 years under the actual rating as long as parent accompanies. However, It's still unclear and confusing for me.....in the UK anyone can see Minions.

So, any parents for 4 or 5 year olds who've been able to go and watch the Minions in Zurich. Please confirm

With thanks

Call them and ask. I wouldnt count on her getting admission. No. Sorry. Also check if the movie really is in English. Most children movies are dubbed into German...

Re: First Swiss cinema visit

I went to see the same movie in Lausanne, with my 4yo daughter and 5yo niece, and they didn't bat an eyelid.

But it might be different in the Swiss german part, where they seems quite more obsessed with rules.

Re: First Swiss cinema visit

In Canton of Zurich K6 means at least 6 years old.
https://www.kitag.com/de/kinos-und-i...ltersfreigabe/

But it is also shown in the Trafo in Baden. Where it is 6y unaccompanied / 4y accompanied.

if you are looking for the English version. Basel Kino Rex, Bern Kino splendid, are also options with the 6y/4y restriction.

Don't ask first. Just go.
I have never seen age restriction being enforced in a movietheater unless it was obvious like a 13yold trying to watch BlackHawkDown alone or something like that.

Further more it's a kidsmovie so noone will bother about 4y or 6y or whatever. And as long as there are parents accompaning children nobody will get in your way anyway (like how is it their business to tell you what you think is appropriate for your kids^^).

But if you aks first you might remember them of age restriction which ppl usually give no thought.

So take your kids, get them some popcorn, icecream or whatever and enjoy the movie.

don't alert them to the possibility and enjoy the movie. They won't ask to check. Enjoy the movie :-)

what a bullshit post. I have seen it happen in the cinema mentioned in the OP.

if you want to try it, but the ticket without the child in sight. then you are generally lucky.

Re: First Swiss cinema visit

When my daughter was 5 we went a couple of times, she knew to lie about her age (which is not a lesson I wanted to teach her, but Come On! Frozen was on). We got challenged once, but they accepted her saying she was 6 as she is tall for her age.
I wanted to take her to madagascar 3 when she was just shy of 4, but knew we would never get away with it.
Personally I think it's a silly rule, but it is a rule and you might have to live with it.
