It's not only prices you need to check at the sloppy Swiss retailers. Prices are often not shown, or are different at the checkout and offers totally missed.
And as for sell-by-dates...

Any store that can show their tangerines are from Iceland, as our local Coop did, needs watching carefully...
Not totally unlikely. They have a lot of energy available. I know that they grow cucumbers and tomatoes under artificial light. They did at one time experiment with growing bananas.

I always make a point of putting all the reduced stuff and things with stickers on together on the belt and with the stickers clearly visible to the cashier. I always check the receipt before leaving the store so that any mistakes can be easily rectified.

The OP may have had a legitimate gripe if she was systematically being overcharged at the same store on a regular basis. At the moment she's just been a bit unlucky to have had a couple if cashiers who've made mistakes. It's easily done and easily rectified too.
Well said Belgianmum in 1st paragraph.

We have noticed there is the odd shop of any chain seems to have a problem with their cashmachine or cashiers on regular occurrence.

We would usually run our eyes down the receipt before leaving the shop, one should know the offers or discounts one is expecting and so easily pick them out. When a problem we go back to same cashier and wait until there is a break in her line of people to resolve.

If we have not noticed until we get home, then we usually do nothing.

OP, you as others have said need to change the title of this thread, if you do not know how, ask a moderator for help.

Also consider using self-checkout.

This way, there will be no cashier to make a mistake.
It is not only quicker but if you are sneaky you can cheat them back.

Re: Migros and Coop are cheating me again!

I do what the locals do, and just stand there staring at the prices as my items are rung up, refusing to actually pack anything or start looking for my wallet, until the process is over and the cashier is telling me to pay.

Then I fumble about looking for my wallet and slowly work out what to pay, delaying the entire process by fishing out a Migros points card in Coop, or a Coop card in Migros. Then I amble slowly over to the end of the conveyor belt before going into a daydream for a minute or two then working out where my bags are and finally what the best order is to put my stuff in.

I've integrated.

I tried sending your missus but she started laughing, then burst into tears before breaking down and telling the cashier how awful her life is. She was even slower than me.

try shopping at Lidl or Aldi, I never check my bill because it feels like I am getting 50% off everything I buy compared to the prices at the duopoly grocers!

You should. Just because they're cheaper doesn't mean they're immune to errors. You could potentially save even more.

I find this a case of extreme discrimination. I shall immediately request that the post be removed and the writer banned for a period of at least three weeks.

Now where did I put that shopping list... I must check everything I bought. That silly cashier in the Migros muddled me so when she refused to take my Pro Bon stickers this morning although I asked her three times to do so. She was also most offensive when I emptied my purse of 5 Rappen pieces onto the scanning window. They get so heavy...

Cold stuff together - ideally "building blocks" first (those items which stack well and can hold other things on top - eggs and yogurts do well here. Smoked salmon or cooked meats can be slid down the side of a bag once the basic structure is in place. Always helpful to my 2 wedges of cheese as these can then be put on top of each other to create a flat surface for something to go on top.

Tins on the bottom layer of a bag - ideally 4 in a bag - 1 in each corner.

Which begs the question - why do all supermarkets put the fruit and veg first! Particularly with the self-scan options it naturally puts them at the bottom of the bag
