My lucky day indeed - found a beautiful plant, paid less than usual (Migros has 10% off on everything today) and repotted it.

Re: Nice things today.

An Attitude of Gratitude Thread?

Awesome.

I finally got some sleep for which I am ultimately grateful. I am tutoring difficult lit and it is working out, yay. And I will cheer to my local farm, too, albeit 5mins away, not 3, and with amazing raw milk dispencers, eggs, yoghurts and other produce we have been munching on for years. Excellent.

Re: Nice things today.

A Swiss friend from London was randomly in town and we headed swimming in the Limmat after work. So strange to be talking to a Zurich native about "my city" and him referring to my home town as "my London" though!

And finally good coffee thanks to a kind EFer's free Dolce Gusto machine. Made the morning after so much more bearable

Re: Nice things today.

My daughter napping this afternoon even though she slept for 10 hours last night... so she's been in a brilliant mood all day. Lots of toothy grins and saying of the words "Knee!" "Two!" and "purpulee".

Someone came and helped me sort out some clothes and other goodies. Two big bags waiting to go to the brocki or other donation place. And I've got one more very nicely empty space in my home.

Re: Nice things today.

Winter is around the corner ... Almost. Thank you EF folks for keeping company on autumn days in those cold apartments with heaters off, while tentatively observing news on refugees and waiting for the U.S. Open tennis matches of the day. I also didn't meet any stranger over the weekend who would gladly exchange 100 note for fake 1000 note. However I will find my top retirement destination soon ... Say in 10-20 years time

And thank you for another thread like this one as well ...

Re: Nice things today.

Thank you to the adorable calf that had escaped from the field next to my appt that was grateful for being rescued.
He didn't bite me unlike the ungrateful rabbit that had myxomatosis that I saved before it got run over that bit me and I ended up in hospital having a nice injection.

Re: Nice things today.

It's not 'my' nice experience but am grateful for those involved in saving a polar bear who became trapped in a fishing net today. It's pretty rare for ocean life to survive once they get tangled in nets. Thanks Alaska biologists, conservationists and volunteers.

Re: Nice things today.

Thankyou to my cat "Charlie".

Unbelievable what this cat is going through. He fractured his front leg and was in a massive cat fight and had to go to the Vet, again. He loves to jump. 12 feet is the record, to my knowledge...

But he always wants to go out and face the music and action. He never gives up. My always scratched up arm testifies to that.

As long as you turn up and face what life is ready to throw at you then you are 80% of the way to success.

And yes, thankyou Charlie for teaching me to love cats too. Even if they are little rascal narcisists. Cute though.

Are you sure the milk is raw? I went once to a farm equipped a milk dispenser but it had a label on it saying that the milk was pasteurized.

Kudos to the farm you're getting all the produce and dairy from!

Oh no; the fruits from Migros/ Coop can't compete with the ones which came from her parents' garden . The peaches were absolutely delectable! I don't feel the obligation to offer something back, as we do help each other quite often. That said, I did feel a bit guilty returning her bowls empty - my mother would have given me a good lecture on good manners
