Social events / hobbies in Zurich / St. Gallen / Romanshorn

Hi there
I live currently near Romanshorn in Thurgau and seek meeting people around my age (+/- 5 years). However, it is very difficult to come in touch because I cannot find any clubs or forums where I can meet new people. I am Japanese and moved here one year ago, do you have any hints where / what I could do around Thurgau (St.Gallen, Zurich also fine)?
Happy to see your responses
Marina

Welcome to the forum Marina.

You can always start your own event and see what happens.

You say you'd like to meet people around your age. For that, stating your age would be good.

heihei
I thought it is displayed because I wrote it in my registration Anyway, I am 20 years old and about organizing an event, maybe it's not such a bad idea - I will think about it. But also nice if I could just join an existing event or whatsoever, as long as people are easy-going =D

About age, I also don't care when they are around 30 - however, I realized often we do not have same interests

Thanks so much for your answer

Hi Machama

If you do not get better idea/offer for Sat 19 Sep 2015. 10 to 22hours

Amriville have their Octoberfest that day.

As you live Romanshorn, no doubt you know the train, not sure if 2 or 3 an hour to Amriswil, about 10 minutes or less, then a 5 minute walk to Amriville Shopping centre. (I will let you research buses if you prefer on ssb they do run)

What they do is put long tables on ground floor with chairs and outside the front area. Some dressed in costume others not. Some kind of music played in at least 2 areas I think, maybe only one live.

People drink, beer wine soft drinks etc, some is order at table others at the bar, but I think mainly at the table. 2 to 4 different cooked food outlets, with sausages and those other snakck/ fast food favourites like the pig/pork bone with meat on it.
But you can just sit with a soft drink and nothing else, and some shops there.

Maybe somewhere to meet up with local friend.

We will be there, but we are ancient to your young 20. Just know we are here, if want someone to speak English with.
sorry have to go, so cut short without re-reading

Join internations.org! There's a St Gallen forum (and Zurich, not looked for a Romanshorn one), you can meet up with people once a month, in St Gallen it gets about 50ish people of different ages.

Also language classes have plenty of new people wanting to make friends! http://www.sanktgallernetz.ch/ has a list of clubs, but it's in German.

Good luck!

Re: Social events / hobbies in Zurich / St. Gallen / Romanshorn

I have been looking for the same thing! I just came to the forum to search to see if there were any events around St. Gallen/Bodensee and found your post.

I live in Rorschach and am 26. I have been here a year now, and have not found many events in this area. I would also love to make some friends in the area.
