Where to buy [craft supplies].... please help this Newbie!

Hello everyone

Can someone suggest a reasonable place to buy crafting supplies from. Like fabrics, ribbons, papers etc. Am starting a big craft project and looking for cheap options. Any place online that will deliver to Geneva or France? Any ideas???

They have a French France website.
https://loisir-creatif-fr.buttinette.com/shop/accueil
Why there is no French Swiss website is not known.

Re: Where to buy.... please help this Newbie!

I learned (after three years here!) that if you open a web page in Google Chrome (rather than Internet Explorer) you can request that the pages be translated. It isn't perfect but it really helps. It doesn't work for some types of pages - eg pdfs.

This shop in Basel has an online store: http://www.bastelartikel.ch/default....77AD89480CE35C

Re: Where to buy.... please help this Newbie!

I do a lot of cutting and pasting into translators.

I'm afraid you're not going to find many craft options in English, here in CH. If you need a site in English - try amazon .com or .co.uk (I get some of my quilting materials from Amazon in the US). Otherwise, enjoy the adventure.

You can also order a catalogue on the site - and then when ordering you'll have the book with the pictures in hand and it'll make navigating the website easier.

@Papa Goose; groaning that was really rather unfair as Sunsa lives in Geneva in the french part.... not everyone who lives in Switzerland needs to speak german!

@Sunsa; Tissus Mondial just on the outskirts of Annemasse has a pretty extensive range of reasonably priced fabrics, ribbons and fabric-based craft supplies.

Panduro are very good too if you have a french delivery address.

I've bought fabrics from this store:
(not sure if they have a French version website, but try Google Translate as @dhart suggested, or just go to the category Stoffe & Mercerie)

Re: Where to buy.... please help this Newbie!

Is there a reason you want online?

Migros Do-It has a craft section which to my craft-disinterested eye looks moderately extensive, as does Jumbo.

They're nothing like the craft megastore range of something like Hobbycraft, but equally that is also overpriced.

Hi! This store is good for fabrics, and looks like they have a location in Geneva:
http://www.alja.ch/index.cfm?Seite=1002

I visit the store in a small town, which has a pretty good selection for my crafting needs, so I would assume in the city you would have a pretty good variety.

Also Acacias. You can park outside. Ikea in Vernier also has a limited fabric section.

Re: Where to buy.... please help this Newbie!

I use http://ch.opitec.com/opitec-web/st/Home, which will talk to you in French if you ask it too!

Delivery is (in my opinion) on the high side so I tend to wait until I need several things then place a big order.

They also send you a discount voucher for your birthday if you are a registered customer!
