Re: Urgent buying something at the kiosk asap

I bought a Mars yesterday. I took three bites of it and when it was nearly done, I realized that I didn't like it. As a product generally has warranty, I went back to the kiosk to ask my money back. The woman in the job simply refused and laughed at me.

Can you please advise on my consumer rights?

Having consumed more than half the Mars bar, what consumption are you requesting protection from?

Generally, in Switzerland, Mars bars are considered an American product.
Of course I am open to correction on that point, it being just a generally held viewpoint of non-Americans.

Why not try Snickers bars? They are sold in large (more than one bite) and small sizes - the big economy packs available are rather pricey in CH, but half the price in Germany, especially with the tax refund, which makes your next purchase even more economical if you remember to take along your customs stamped tax invoice, and hand it to the sales person at the till. Where you can request another tax invoice for your next large purchase.

You will not need consumer protection if you change your buying habits.

I hate people like the OP. They come here, earn a Swiss salary and end up buying chocolate from another planet instead of supporting local businesses.

When I lived on Mars, they were bigger. And Snickers were called Opal Fruits.

Spangles were still crap, though.

I used to hate the coffee creams in those.

Where is Germany and how do I get there? Do I need a passport or can I use my Scientology membership card?

Actually it's an entirely British invention, the only good thing ever to come out of Slough. It's not even marketed in the US (although there have been other bars bearing the name).

Interesting factoid about the manufacture of Mars bars:- something like 10% of each mars bar consists of recycled Mars bars, being an important ingredient in the 'nougat' layer.

The very end of the production line is staffed by a stacker who fits the bars into a frame on the end table and lifts onto a trolley (which is then taken for packaging). When that person goes on a break the production line continues and the finished bars simply pile up on the floor. When the stacker comes back these bars are shovelled up and thrown into a bin which is later wheeled back to the start of the line where it's emptied into a hopper.

When I went there last they all spoke foreign - I think it was French or something.

I used my deceased Mother`s Gideon Bible Service Distributorship card but the customs guy just glanced at it and waved me on, so any card should suffice. As long as it looks authentic and has a photo in it. Doesn`t have to be a Biometric one.

Give it a few days and it won't matter - we only need the total posts to rise and the 2% level will be at a higher absolute level.

(Now be a sport and post a reply to help in the campaign)
(Might also be worth considering that the Local might prefer to have an active sight rather one shuffling off to Eastbourne)

Rumour has it there was a girl at my school very partial to a Mars bar on the odd occasion, in those days they were 10% bigger and cost 10p.

Lets say for completeness she never ate the product, nor were their smart phones to record what she did with it. Perhaps it will forever remain a mystery.

10p coins were bigger in those days too.
