Apple Pay Mystery

So, I was just adding a flight boarding card to passbook/wallet on my husbands iPhone and I noticed that he had Apple Pay

I checked my wallet/passbook.... no Apple Pay.

We both have the same software 9.0.2, we both have Swiss Apple IDs linked to Swiss credit cards and addresses. The only difference is I have an iPhone 6 and he has the 6 plus.

What is going on?? I wasn't aware this was ready for use in CH and would they just roll it out to the 6 plus and not the 6? Annoying because he isn't interested in it, but i would quite like to use it

Re: Apple Pay Mystery

Hi,
Apple Pay is not officially supported by any Swiss Bank. At the moment only few uk institutes have made their credit cards available for Apple Pay in Europe. Not sure how your husband managed to add the card to PassBook (or wallet), you can try it yourself with the steps here
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201239
But it won't work, for now, with a Swiss CC.
If it does work, it could mean someone let that slip too early.

Re: Apple Pay Mystery

He hasn't actually added a card.. But has the option to, which I don't. I don't think he should have it, for some weird reason he does. Makes me a bit suspisous, so probably won't try and use it!

Re: Apple Pay Mystery

It could be because he has his region set to UK. It's in the settings somewhere. If you have it set to Switzerland you won't see the option to add a card, if you have it on UK or US you will.

That was my first thought, but it's set to Switzerland.

You're in Switzerland. The bill always goes to the man.

How would a fragile woman even cope with Apple Pay?

Re: Apple Pay Mystery

Right. Mystery solved. His Apple ID for iTunes etc was set as Switzerland, but for some random reason his region in the phone settings was set to UK. I didn't even know that was possible... Thought everything was set to one region.

So there you go. If you want to use Apple Pay with your UK & US cards you can do so by changing phone region without changing your iTunes account details.
