Rubbers or galoshes for bike riding?

I ride my bike to work and would like to protect my work shoes from the rain, but cannot find anything like waterproof galoshes anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions where they can be found? You would think they would be all over the place given the amount of rainfall!

Have you been to a bike-shop or a more general sports-shop?

Hi, I've been to several general sports shops, as well as shoe stores to no avail.
Thanks for the advice you gave.

Well, shoe-stores you can forget, most likely.
I bought mine at Velofix in Wiedikon. They're quite handy.
Though I admit I don't drive that much in heavy rain anymore, simply because it messes with the bike too much...

Veloplus actually has a physical store in Zurich. So maybe they have one of these to try on.

Can you not just wear trainers and take your work shoes (or leave them at work) and change when you get there.
I would have thought that it would be quite awkward trying to pedal in rubber-wrapped shoes.

My thought too. Although they would definitely keep the OP safe.

Extra thick rubbers might work quite effectively. As well as preventing your feet from getting pregnant or contracting an STD.
