One thing is certain - as it's Schindellegi, she definitely won't be working on her tan on her terrace!

paris-hilton-schnidel.jpg

freudian slip? interesting place she signed up for, haha!
got corrected in the last 2 minutes, but...

ok, misspelling of village explained: it says Schnidel=willy/weener-legi
not Schindellegi.

Re: Paris Hilton...

I'd love to think some of Switzerland's more famous residents were regular EF users ... Tina Turner complaining about being Switzerlanded or Sebastian Vettel moaning that he was told off for doing his recycling on a Sunday!!

Maybe not too much chance - Tina Turner really embraces her life here - often see her around - roller-blading around the lake or even once in the local Migros.

And she's so happy with our hairdresser (we have both used the same one for years - and before you comment I was there first), that she still sends hers regularly to him.

Paris Hilton is an heiress of the Hilton hotel chain (great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton); the hotel was named after the family, not vice versa!

Yeah, but Paris?

Wouldn't Jennifer or Agnes have been a less daft name with a surname like that?

Especially since Paris is a male name.

"In Greek mythology he was the Trojan prince who kidnapped Helen and began the Trojan War."

I wonder how long it will be before a new Paris Hilton sex tape is released, except this time with recognisable Swiss scenery in the background..

Well, she is rich and American... so it could have been far worse like all those Hollywood babies names Peaches or Apple. Still: Paris is clearly a boys name and always has been.

Romantically celebrating the conception location?

Actually she was supposed to be named Doris; but the registrar was a bit deaf

Will the city now be named Paris?
And will the city of Paris be named Schindeleggi?

In that case do you have to agree that Paris sounds way better than say "airbus toilet" or the like...

Re: Paris Hilton...

Has anyone told her it's going to take at least 12-13 years to get citizenship? 10 to get the C permit and be eligible for the new 10 year residency requirement. Then there's the 2/3 years to get accepted if she can. Bet she thinks it'll happen in 2/3 years' time, poor girl. The Swiss don't give away their citizenship like the Americans do these days. Bet she also has no idea of the tax problems she's now facing as an American abroad. That'll give her a shocking Chrissie present.

She can easily cut a deal for a C permit. She has places all over the world. Don't you have to stay in Switzerland for a majority of the time for residency?

A friend of mine who visited West Africa, Niger I think, said he met a young boy called Aeroport Chales de Gaulle, and another called Ford Mustang.
