Re: Christmas pudding

Do you have a Globus equivalent? They definitely have really good quality ones at ours in Geneva.

Re: Christmas pudding

Globus Zurich still has a good supply - but I wouldn't leave it to the last minute.
(They have Sunday shopping tomorrow). The English book shop on Bahnhofstr. used too, although am not sure about this year...

I believe the price range I saw was between CHF 35 - / around 50.- in Globus last week. No idea how this compares to the UK. norm., as have never bought one?

Have a look here - and then weep.

Most expensive is £8 (CHF11.62). Even Marks & Spencer's most expensive is £14 (CHF20.69).

I paid 15 CHF for a 4 portion-one, I can't believe there would be that much difference of price between Geneva and Zürich, unless you're looking at feeding an army!

Re: Christmas pudding

When we got our a few years ago in Globus in Bern, they were between 17-22 francs. Much easier to get them and bring them back from the UK when we go over in the autumn though. And I must get back into making my own no added sugar ones. Keep forgetting to get the mixed fruit and suet to make them with when we're over there.

OK, just returned - and even with my contacts in they are still CHF 50.-. For me a normal looking size - although there was a non-fancy smallish one for about 20.-. I kid you not. Lots left...

Re: Christmas pudding

Better place a quick order with BritShop then. If ordered before 11.30am tomorrow you'll still get them in time for Christmas.

Just a quick update on anyone who still needs a priceworthy christmas pud. Happened to be in Globus Zurich again today (no, I don't live there but it's on my way home and was curious again about this topic). Although yesterday they only had the CHF 50.00 ones out on display (Coles I believe), today there was a larger range again, from 16.- (for a nice looking smaller one) to this crazily expensive one. Don't know if they ran out of stock and then refilled...

Re: Christmas pudding

I was there today and they had 3 sizes, small individual ones, mid at 21CHF and large at 49CHF.
The English Book shop had mince pies and also mincemeat and christmas crackers... plenty of stock
