Re: Money laundering ...

Once I left CHF50 note in my pants that was washed weeks ago. The note never left its domicile in back pocket. One day when I went to the petrol station and I was about to pay with my CC for fuel, I started feeling little imbalance or slight asymmetry on fabric covering the left buttock. Physically there was some tiny soft object that was protruding from the surface slightly more than sheer empty pocket. I was about to get rid of this old piece of paper but wait a minute is that how you treat a piece of valuable paper ... ? Don't waste it yet. Check what it is first. You should see my face when I discover what it was. In joy, I walked to the beer aisle and lifted a six pack of Corona. Well, done me thought. Finders and keepers. One should get rewarded. But hang on a second, it was my wife's contribution in the process. Let me grab a bunch of flowers for her. She deserved it too. And I walked away happy with beer, roses and change of CHF20 note from the garage.

Being a dork, I left my wallet in my jeans. The Swiss and Canadian bills, as well as all of my CCs were unaffected.
The new Canadian bills (developed in Australia!) take all the fun and adventure out of laundry day... unless you try to iron them.

...leave it to the Aussies for security feature consulting. I'm sure there's a great joke in there somewhere :P

I always keep money that`s been laundered. So far only coins, waiting for the notes

Only other things have been forgotten tissues in pockets - that shred and cover everything in fine white *dust*. Of course that only happens with dark washing.

Best so far was husbands business cellphone, it came out kaput. Co-incidence was that boss`s wife laundered his cellphone the same week.

By the way, seems that Swiss tissues come out whole and clean, only German cheapies shred!
Forgotten tissues in pockets is a recurrent problem in our household and compromised a few pairs of black jeans or t-shirts... I threw them away, they didn't look well after that, not even after I washed them again a few more times. My OH is still looking for his favourite pair of jeans...
I just don't have the heart to tell him the truth.

Re: Money laundering ...

Having left a bank note in you pair of jeans, which spouse has to wash, is called negligence.

Having left a condom in your pair of jeans, which spouse has to wash, is called asking-for-trouble.

The rule is like that> whoever is doing the laundry should check every pocket. My husband does check all the pockets every time, I don't.

I was always doing that in the UK, but have discovered since moving here that Tempo tissues never fall apart in the wash.

Fed up with checking all the damn pockets. Front, back, side, hidden. I got stung once already with an iPod left in a running jacket (stupid) secret pocket. "All my fault". Balderdash. It still worked anyway, (apart from the screen, which wasn't so happy).

The other thing that really pi$$es me off is inside out socks. You want them washed, dried, paired up with their twin and returned to you? Put them in the washing basket the right way out!

I hope I will remember to buy Tempo paper tissues next time, I am using all sorts now, I never payed attention. to the brand.
Either that or I will have to switch to old cotton made handkerchiefs....it is becoming embarrassing..

Ahem. Spouse doesn't *have* to wash anything, whatever you left in the pockets!

Got that right! One of my rules with laundry - how they arrive is how you get them back!

The other that never ceases to amaze me, is how undies turn themselves inside out? I put mine in the laundry right side out, they come out inside out! Husbands go in as he discards them ... inside out, and they remain inside out!

I`ve tried other connotations, but all undies still comes out inside out...... (socks don`t obey this rule of laundry think, at least)
