Newbie paradise is not EF........

.......it is Allianz.ch

I popped over to the Allianz site a minute ago to find the "Total Schaden" table for accident damage - it shows the % of NP they will pay out by year IE if damage goes over that amount it is a write.

The Allianz site is hugely intuitive - couple of menu selects and there you have the table. SIMPLES as they say!!

Anyway, instead of looking properly I thought I'd behave like an EF newbie - the lovely Melanie (I'm making up pictures of her in my head) popped up in a "Help text" window - she asked me (all in German mind you) what she could help me with - I garbled back what I was looking for - 10s later she pinged back the link

I'm off to have a good long hard think of all the things Melanie could help me with.

Re: Newbie paradise is not EF........

In a way, we are all Melanie here...think about it.

Someone come with an (often) stupid question (ok fair enough, sometimes ok, often already asked). Then we do provide answer.
Ok it comes from different username but in the end, it's an answer nonetheless...

And it does feel like we're bots:

Newbie: What salary should I asked?
Melanie EF bot: 120K.

Newbie: Where to find brown sugar?
Melanie EF bot: in the shop

etc...

We are all part of EF Melanie!

I wonder if it makes any difference to the level of service you'll receive if you select Deutsch, Francais or Italiano before conjuring her up.

Definitely. Milana (Mélanie for the Swiss Italians) has an avatar with moving hands, to better associate with her targets.
Meltrüde (for the Swiss Germans) has subtitles because frankly, who understands Swiss German?
Mélanie (for the Swiss French) is in black and white, and replies with a lot of information because Swiss French know everything about everything and they like to show it.
Mouchbrochhht (let's not Forget the Swiss Romanch!) has an avatar replaced by a (Swiss) cow. They're more familiar with that

Nope!
We are finally providing a solution to prevent newbies suffering in EF, and that's MélanieEF. Clearly it needs to be adapted to fit EF's well known facts, so it's the right location.

And please, no direct interactions, ask Mélanie EF if it's the right or wrong thread first.

I wonder if Melanie gets paid more than we do to post here on EF.

The Local keeps cutting my per-post rate

I don't want to hurt any feelings, but Melanie might not be entirely human and is probably not earning a lot per post. I have always wondered if certain users on here might be basic AI bots reacting to certain keywords, for example "Muslim"...

They should all go back to where they came from.
