Ultra Cheap Roller Suitcases

As part of a moving strategy I thought I'd get some large roller suitcases. They have the advantage of being able to roll them along and reuse them.

Is it a good or a bad idea?

Is there anywhere in ch you can get super cheap roller suitcases?

I'm not planning on travelling the world with them so they don't have to be baggage handler resistant. Just moving around a few times. Maybe as a storage solution in the loft.

The zillion plastic boxes I have, have worked out well (water and bug resistant) but they seem way overpriced here in ch and hard to lug about.

Is there a place to get super cheap plastic boxes?

IKEA has rolling storage boxes (well they have wheels on one end so you can sort of "lift and shuffle"). You can get ginormous ones and make much better ongoing storage in the new place.

www.sportsdirect.com , who were in the news today for all the wrong reasons, will ship to CH, but be careful of potential customs charges, or get them shipped to Germany.

And don't expect high quality.

Agreed. Coop also just had a special where you could buy hard-shell luggage for 70 chuffs or so. Not too bad of a deal imo.

They might have the leftovers at a coop city.

I've found it to be a good idea. I bought 3 x large IT frameless 4 wheel suitcases last year and so far, I've moved home 5 times and used one of them on 7 flights. They're currently in the keller with my winter wardrobe in two of them, and I've found that they don't pick up any musty smell from being there.

Re: Ultra Cheap Roller Suitcases

CathHarmony, I've owned a pair of ultra cheap roller suitcases ... they are great for one trip. Just unpack and throw them away when you get home!

I've never seen anything quite that cheap in Switzerland, but I'd start by looking at my favourite cheap shops in Langnau or Adliswil. I'd also check the brocki for someone's good quality discard. Failing that, hallo Konstanz!

Re: Ultra Cheap Roller Suitcases

When do you need them? Do you have a car? We have some old suitcases that we don't need anymore. You could pick them up for free if wanted. (Thalwil area). PM me if interested.
