Déchetterie plastic

Hi, pls help with advice on what to do with non PET plastics. Do they go in the Canton specific bags?- Seems so but what a shame if they get dumped in a landfill site. In the UK all plastic branding the recycle symbol was recycled.

Newer Lidl, Co-op and Migros take all those other bottles including those that contained detergent, shampoo, milk and basically most things.

Re: Déchetterie plastic

In Migros there are holes in the walls with markings/pictures next to them for PET, non-PET (milk bottles and such), batteries etc.

Check out your local shop the next time you go there.

Depending on the shop you'll find these holes inside the shop or outside around the customer service desk or similar. If you can't find it, ask a cashier/salesperson. Coop should be similar.

Re: Déchetterie plastic

They wouldn't go to a landfill but would be burned to generate electricity and heating. Not completely wasted.

Re: Déchetterie plastic

Or as your title says ... Take them to the déchetterie in your commune. They have appropriate containers.

In Vaud they often do NOT have containers for non PET at the Déchetterie. However, most Migros and Coop stores have slots to put milk bottles etc. in addition to PET.

As also mentioned, the bottles that go in the taxed garbage bags are sent to Lausanne to be burned to generate heat for a very large area of the city.
