Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

So you would consider a good looking chick to be a priori boring or not worth it? How about blonde? That is something that probably irks me the most...it is totally illogical. Otherwise, we don't know the criteria people base their own stats on, unless they share them. I am glad they do, there is a way to confront, discuss.

Lol. According to some theories here, that would make her very not boring and very not obnoxious. Right?

1-10 based on what? looks?? looks are subjective anyway, and the most stunning people visually are more often than not the most boring and obnoxious, and when there looks start to fade the boring and obnoxious stays
I thought the real scoring system for both sexes was "Would You?/Wouldn't You?"

Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

The funny thing is - we make very few rational choices, everything is gut feeling. We think we do, however. And those uber rational decisions rarely keep people happy, long term, anyways.

Picking a partner, falling for one - and employing all the ratio there is, is an illlusion. How many would have picked differently, 20 years later. Most of us.

So, I'd say - local/not, rich/poor, Western/smart (sorry...), Western/other, is totally irrelevant. Then one gets into a sticky moment and sees why people turn away, why things do not go as previously rationally planned. I think it's all got to do with this awkward idea that we need a partner asap, we pick too rationally (usually trying to date up, fixing some lack of self faith, or so..). We see ourselves as functioning, only if we pair up. It is a bit...forced.

Adventure makes people happy. Self realisation..OP should either perceive shacking up with somebody as a tantalizing adventure with all its risk (somebody hinted at it here before, I'm agree) and the whole fun being the risk and the tricks we play on ourselves and our shortsighted rational part, or look for this fun and adventure in something else. Let the coupling happen later. Dating is usually too ordinary and boring, anyways. Sorry about my discouraging attitude.

Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

I wanna thank everyone wholeheartedly again for their kind words and the time everyone put into this thread! I also understand that this post must have risen some eyebrows and that a lot of people didnít agree with a lot of things - thatís totally normal and has to be expected.

It looks like the majority of this forum arenít in that situation and somehow managed to survive in this country and had a very good planning.

It has also to be expected that native people from here who have been described in my opening post - will do everything to defend themselves. I can understand that - and it only feels right.

This post wasnít made to yell at a specific group of people nor seek for any advice or help in the first part.

I decided to post it here and describe my impressions and experiences during my life, trying to help people who are in a similar situations(it looks like there arenít too many on here who actually have or had to deal with that kind of stuff) and trying to avoid that theyíre doing the same mistakes like I did.

I also understand that people wonít take the post very serious, it makes perfectly sense to me - why would you take such a thing serious if you obviously never experienced such things for whatever reason?

The reason for coming here was solely because it would have been interesting to read opinions of people who arenít locals(most of them arenít, but from reading some sentences here I believe that some members are locals or at least living here for a longer period of time).
I really liked reading the various responses and different point of views.

Everything that has been mentioned in this thread, especially the parts about self-reflection, seeking people with the same interests - in short: stop whining and stand up and do something.

Yes I am very familiar with these terms and I was willing to do these steps in earlier parts of my life - but in a country like CH itís just impossible if you missed out on an earlier age.

I personally have arranged myself with my situation and I have accepted it. I am not angry, or disgruntled or hate women in general - god forbid, please no!
In fact it doesnít bother me too much, but I thought it was needed that somebody should explain to people how things really work on here, in order to avoid mistakes in the future.

To all those who have managed to knock the wall down - congratulations. Personally I have given up on women/girls of this country - lots of respect to those who still have hope and believe in it - I personally donít anymore and gave up some time ago.

For me thereís nothing to loose in that regard. I will carry on with my life - but I wonít think about women from here or do any efforts anymore to seek them.

I am not harming anyone, I have never done anything wrong to anybody and that isnít my intention.

If I offended, annoyed or discriminated some people on here due to my lack of empathy, experience or perhaps even intelligence - I wanna apologize wholeheartedly to those(they can accept it or not - but I offered it).

I am not offended in any way - when I decided to post this here I was expecting some mixed reactions, people who wonít believe it and/or people who would accuse me of being misogynistic(a relatively new word here in CH). All that had to be expected and it doesnít concern or offend me in any way.

It took also some time to filter out the responses, lots of humor is going on here and takes a lot of reading between the lines - which is quite interesting and funny to a certain extend.

You people here were very nice to me and I just wanted to share my personal experiences, which apply to nearly all local women in this country and to all regions I have been to.

Again - thank you for taking the time to read my post, for taking the time to answer and for the patience people had with me and this thread(because itís hard to believe and even makes people angry to a certain extend - I am very aware of it and used to it).

My situation canít be solved(there will be people who will say it could and that thereís always a way to etc.) - but I have accepted it and arranged myself with the situation and my opinion canít be changed for the moment. I am ok with living like that, and thereís no jealousy toward those who have managed to break out and accomplish this extremely difficult task. Theyíre certainly a minority - but I am happy for them and it makes me happy that at least a handful of people were clever enough to find ways and develop methods to do so.

I hope you people have enough time to read this post lol, I really donít wanna annoy you nor waste your time - definitely not my intention.

Thanks for your patience and sympathy!

Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

OP - would you like us women write a novel about our experiences with insensitive, mummy's boys, uneducated Swiss men who have treated us like a bit of dirt? Or ignored us? Or have spoken badly about us?

Some of the men are just as bad or worse as you describe the women in Switzerland.

And you sound like a petulant little boy.

He just needs to get his leg over, and i am sure he knows where to go to do that!! Probably rubs up against people in the tram...

Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

A few observations on the OP and his opening posts:
  • A few, at least partially, valid or insightful observations (e.g. "Social circles in Switzerland are unique in this world. They basically come down to a cult.").
  • Observations that are not unique to Switzerland and have nothing to do with being 'Swiss' (e.g. "Thereís a high percentage of women having kids very late - which means between 35 and 40.").
  • The OP is in his early twenties and his experience of women is also of that age group (he even calls them repeatedly 'girls' rather than 'women'). I can understand if he's had bad experiences as a result - anybody under the age of 25 is an idiot. His understanding of older women is very limited.
  • Some seriously erroneous generalisations are offered (e.g. "But as a random tourist who stays two weeks in CH and wants an adventure with a swiss girl, or a guy who doesnít have the things mentioned above - swiss girls will always be untouchable and unreachable.").
  • The OP views himself as the archetypal 'nice guy' and blames his lack of success solely on Swiss 'girls'. The problem with this is twofold; firstly with 30% foreigners in Switzerland, he'd have gotten laid by now despite the 'untouchable' Swiss 'girls'. Secondly self-identifying as a 'nice guy' does not mean you are; all too often those who do so are not really 'nice', but are in reality simply boring and sometimes even creepy - neither of which is an attractive quality.

Re: The truth about swiss girls and women

OP - on balance, you seem to need some kind of counselling rather than venting a thesis on an expat forum.

I don't think your posts are particularly offensive, you just come across as crashingly naive and rather bitter most likely down to a handful of negative experiences.

At least you finally acknowledge that your experience is not the experience of the majority of people. And it's certainly not this mythical "truth" you talk about in the title of the thread.

Your post seems even faintly ridiculous when I think of the Swiss female friends I have and their normal functioning marriages, relationships and family life, with normal and functioning partners.

For you, I think you are not the type to aim to pick up women in bars and clubs, you would be better meeting lots of people in some kind of mutual interest area (whatever your hobbies are?).
