What is affordable and romantic place you know

Can anyone recommend a good place to hang out we're on our twenties and my gf does not like flashy places or expensive restaurants. She just likes a quite place with dim lights and slow music ...

We have enjoyed going to the cinema cuddling and watching romantic movies (we can't do it at home as we are sharing appartment with others and would like to keep things private )

So I was hopping to find a place with a comfy sofa, dim light and soft music not too exposed (I promise we are not gonna be doing anything more than the usual talk and cuddle)

Re: What is affordable and romantic place you know

Well I hope that its nothing more than cuddling. The Swiss are not romantic so forget about finding such a place. If there was such a place the police would have closed it down. Maybe some seedy bar will offer what you want.Or the Nelson Pub in Zürich-but watch what you do there.

Re: What is affordable and romantic place you know

What has bitten your Friday butts, unromantic people...

Well, there's a bit of truth in that. People seem to fill Migros and Coop caffeterias (unromantic) or go to spas (unaffordable).

OP - the only thing I can think of would be a dim lit Starbux (canapes, jazzy muzzak) at St. François. It is not like you have to buy something too expensive, 2 teas or coffees can be within 10 bucks.

Otherwise, take her to a library, bring tea in a thermos, pralines and a blanket and read her some nice stories or poems..

Buy a tent & go camping. Share a double sleeping bag & put a couple of hot water bottles in at this time of year.

Rent a one-bedroom apartment - it is probably cheaper than going to Starbucks for a cuddle and coffee

Re: What is affordable and romantic place you know

If it was up to me, I find most romantic creating something together (a course in a art museum or so) or listening somebody reading to me (have somebody read to me or go with me to a public reading). There are free public readings and they are great! So - tea in thermos, a blanket, pralines and listen to fairy tales or stories for grown ups. Or guerilla garden together...moss graffiti!

Better yet, one sleeping bag and no hot water.

And do it on a motorcycle.

In some obscure place in Liguria, with guard-geese patrolling, in somebody's backyard that you barely know.

Did that ten years ago, got married five years later.

Does your apt have a lift? Perhaps a beanbag chair in the cellar?

Sorry, 20 is so long ago for me that much of it has (thankfully) faded... at least the quiet bits.

Go to the Salvation Army depot: they have settees, candles, books, rugs...everything you need, really. Just bring the wine!

Aldi underground car park: dim lights, soft (supermarket) music, warmth (of your car heater) and lots of interesting brochures to read...

Re: What is affordable and romantic place you know

ghe. harder than it sounds. what youre asking is the exact same set of reasons why people would stay home.

perhaps gift the housemates tickets or something for evening entertainment so they piss off?

multi-win because you get to stay at home privately and make someone else's evening and potentially receive something in return later

"At The Drive In" is a great band for interesting dates.

Or go bouldering (student discount, and you get to show off your six pack). It's a bit dim lit and there are many couches and bean-bags. But it is not so cozy...a nerve rush.

It's a tree climbing, but on a rock/wall. There is a Flinstone element in it, defo.
