Tick tick tick tick dribble dribble dribble

That's the clock whilst waiting for the emergency plumber to turn up & a leaking pipe. Tried to turn off the outdoor water today, only to find tap totally rusted up + anyway OH turned the wrong tap which is the mains which was also rusted & has now sprung a leak. So water is in theory off & he is swapping buckets every few minutes.
(Luckily I corrected the type & put the L into clock before I hit submit).

It has not been quiet here. OH getting his kilt in a knot, shouting at Adele... plumber with a vicious looking blow torch & if that goes curly with no water, doesn't bear thinking about. I was waiting for the fire alarm to go off. 2 crusty solidified taps changed after a LOT of fighting with the old pipes. He did an excellent job which will no doubt be reflected in the bill.

I feel your husband's pain Neddy. Can you send your plumber over here please? I'm finding them to be the hardest cat to herd.

UK. I'm finding UK plumbers tend to be great at quoting for a job, but not at all great at sticking to a start date and meeting to discuss plan details. Mess me about and the work goes elsewhere. Simple.

Thanks, wouldn't (yet) like to paint Swiss plumbers with the same brush e.g.

My niece's boyfriend is training to be a plumber, so I'm hoping she hangs on to him for when we eventually move back to the UK.

Don't blame you! Proper tradesmen who are real grafters, are worth their weight in gold.
