Winter in Baden. How is it?

Hello !

I have a doubt about the winter in Baden. How is it? Is it very cold? Is there a lot of snow? etc.
I live in a tropical country, and I had been in some countries that is colder than mine (like USA, Canada, Germany, etc), but I didn't find a website that explain exactly how is the winter in that area . I'm moving in a couple weeks, and I think the summer is over.
Thanks for any tip.
Marcos

Baden is cold, but just down the road in Winterthur it's practically tropical. Something to do with the North Atlantic drift apparently.

Hello Marcos

Winter is cold. very cold compared with Brazil.

From October to December temperature goes down reaching 0° and from Dec-Feb it could go to -5° to -10°, but it changes every year now with this climate change.

My first winter in Switzerland was real hard to me.

I come from a city where the coldest month we have +12°C, and at that temperature, people is clicking the teeth ( don't know the word in english for that clac-clac you do with your theeth on the cold ).

Then after you get used to it and you even start to enjoy it .

There are many wintertime activities we enjoy to do like ice skating, skiing etc.

Thanks Salsa Lover!
I come from a city where the temperature during the winter, when I was a child, for a couple weeks a year, was around 0°C during the night, but with high humity. But now it changed.
I had been i place that around -14°C, with hard snow, but for 1 month, nothing more.
And would like to knwo if there is a lot of snow in this area or just in the Alps.

Well considering that Winterthur is (ever so slightly) further away from the North Atlantic than Baden is, and I've never heard anyone describing the climate of Winterthur as tropical, surely dod has his/her cities mixed up?

No, in Baden it does not snow a lot.
You will have a few frozen mornings, but it's nothing too bad.

Just buy yourself a good warm winter jacket and you'll do fine. The only problem with that is that it will be like wearing an ashtray for the whole season the first time you take it into a bar.
Beats freezing your privates, tho.
