Garden rubbish

Just moved into a house in Meilen with a garden! - anyone know what we're supposed to do with garden rubbish? Our neighbour leaves his porsche roof off pretty often, so perhaps we can just put it in his car?

Re: Garden rubbish

The waste disposal concept of Meilen is described here. Download the PDF "Abfallkalender 2008" for details.

What kind of garden rubbish is it? You can dispose of all kinds, including biodegradable kitchen rubbish, at the "Grüngut" calendar dates. Bundles or buckets have to be lighter than 30 kg and require one yellow fee sticker.

There is also a free collection of autumn leaves twice this winter. It's called "Laubabfuhr" in the calendar.

Re: Garden rubbish

We use a green bin which you can buy at the Bau and Hobby stores - they get emptied each week and take all the garden rubbish

This will usually require a 'per collection' or annual sticker on the green bin available from the local town hall, which of course costs...

What is the "Grüngut" calendar and where can I find it?
Thanks...

Grüngut = Garden (green) rubbish
For a personal calender (yeap, that's what it says), please check this German site: http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/internet...gkalender.html, check "Gartenabraum"
