I went to the Obersee center in Lachen this morning and everything was closed because of All Saints Day which surprised me being a newbie to Switzerland. I'm not even remotely religious and we planned on doing a big family shop today. We need somewhere to buy food and clothes from. Is everything closed in Zurich too?

Where's a good place to go shopping in Zurich for clothes and food?

SZ will be closed - Catholic cantons all have this holiday. So Seedamm is closed....

Me, I keep a check too - my Rules: never go to the Migros Wädenswil on a Roman Catholic holiday and never go to the Wädenswil Swimming Pool on a RC holiday if it is raining!! There is also a holiday when Germany's shops are closed and ours are open but I cannot remember which one it is.
