My daughter is in our High School Musical, Grease, and I just found out that I need to get her a 20's style skirt (like the ones that Sandy wears). Any ideas? We live in Basel and I tried a local costume shop with no luck.

Hi OldHand, duh!!! you're absolutely right, would help if I got my timing right. The musical is the first week in December so sometime over the next 2 weeks would be ideal.

She does need one for photographs on Friday, but that's tight and we'll just have to cobble something together.

Why not make one?

Poodle skirts are super easy to make. You don't even need a pattern: all you really need is some material, measuring tape, elastic for the waistband, and felt to make a poodle that you can glue or hand sew on the front. It's easier with a machine, but you can sew it by hand (or even use tape to hold up the hem if necessary. This has been done for many a school play costume. )
