| | | DOS in Mata Hary?
Last year was tryingto have a drink in Mata Hary, but was blatently refused to be serviced. When I asked why bartender said that cause I had french fries in my hands Needless to say I replied with american dignity, you know - f@#$k you too, middle finger got busy, but question remains -why? I want to go to Zh in two weeks again, want to be prepared,,,,

You will typically be refused service in bars if you bring your Happy Meal in with you.
Bars generally serve their own food and the bars patrons prefer the ambiance without picnic'ers.
I would have thought that this was obvious | | This user would like to thank Jekyll for this useful post:

It'll be the same this year, too. Isn't it obvious that you don't go into somewhere serving food and drink with food you bought somewhere else - likewise if you make sandwiches at home. Try taking a glass of beer into MacDonalds...
And that'll be the Mata Hari...

tip for next time - reply "im sorry, didnt realise, i'll eat these quickly and shant do it again" 9 times out of 10 he'll say ok....

Great - no food - so why should they allow you to eat your fries there creating greasy mess, foul smells etc. Is it no possible to reserve some time when you don't have fries in your hand for visiting bars in Switzerland? Since you're not visiting for 2 weeks, it should be possible to plan some time in your schedule.
Also, a degree of politeness when dealing with bar and waiting staff is customary here. You may want to give your foul mouth and busy middle finger a rest too.

groan at me all you like Byby -- but your childish and disrespectful behaviour will win you no favor -- you need not look beyond your own actions to see why -- if you can see that far. | | This user would like to thank Michigan68 for this useful post:

Reminds me of a time back in college - after a house party, a friend of mine brought his own bottle of beer into a pub and was drinking it openly.
Barman "I'm sorry, but we don't serve that beer here"
Friend "Thanks, that's why I brought my own"
Was just brilliant the way he said it - the barman had no response and just left him |

I find that being serviced while trying to have a drink is most distracting.
Perhaps you should desist from such activities until after you've finished your Pina Colada?
