I was just reminded of this by another thread.

What's the deal with all these shops I see around Zurich that supposedly sell electrical goods such as TVs, stereos, etc. but which never seem to be open?

The big chains - eg Fust, Media Mart, Inter discount - always seem to be open. Except for [grumble] Sundays, but that topic has been flogged to death in other threads...

Small shop opening hours are probably at the whim of the owner/operator, just like everywhere else in the world.

Well these are not big places, really small to be honest, and yes, probably one man gigs. The thing is that they never seem to be open, I've been past them on different days at different times and there's never anyone there.

Yeah I see plenty of those. We should camp outside their shop
