I'll third the EF event suggestion.
You just get to meet people in a relaxed environment (apart from the pub quiz, where the atmosphere positively bristles with aggression and cold competition), make friends, get drunk with them, and sometimes get to sleep with them.
It's really quite nice.
The pies, cheese and beer are pretty nice, too.
