I think it ain't that easy as if you are trying to connect with Swiss girls they are quite distant and don't get the humours Brits or American have...I hear it a lot from my male friends...
Same goes for Men....Swiss guys are quite boring unless they have travelled and speak English...and their sense of humour ....well it's just not there...that's why most of us prefer the EXPATS :-DD

I've done the online dating scene because it's the easiest way to meet someone of the opposite sex who's actually interested in dating. I'm not ugly (don't know if I'm "handsome") but I'm not the kind of guy who hangs out in a bar looking for a woman to date (that's definitely not the kind of woman I want to meet anyway) so where is a nice (non-ugly) guy suppose to meet women..? Migros..?! Coop..?! With online dating (not talking match making services here) at least you have a chance to converse via e-mail before taking it to the next level (phone). If this person sounds interesting on the phone then you can organize a "date". I've meet some interesting and sometimes very funny (strange funny as well) ladies this way.

Yes but online dating has its downside aswell.
You create an imaginary person in your mind, you expect this person to speak/act in a way you would like it to be. Then when you meet them you realize the body language and the way they speak or their sense of humour is not what you have expected...
In my opinion it's not how you are supposed to meet anyone...it's nicer to go out and get to know guys and girls...coz then you see them in reality and either you like them or you don't but you don't have the e-mails and chats background you build up for weeks over the Internet.
But again...everything is changing and I guess online dating is part of our life these days....but I deffo find it more difficult to interact with people over here in public places...when I am in the UK or Ireland I always meet tons of guys and get caught into great funny chit chats...and thats just for a short weekend even...

Seems that since the introduction of the internet, most people have forgotten how to communicate face to face... How did the 30+ (or make that 40+, don't want to offend too many people) on the forum meet others when they were still "young"?

Because women tend to make bad choices. I always thought I don't meet anywhere near the amount of women I deserve and I am ok looking, have an apartment, steady job, a car and not boring. The main problem is that women here are afraid to be asked out. If I invite you for a cup of coffee, I do not expect you to spread your legs for me on the table in Starbucks, just have a chat and whatever, you have nothing to lose. Then I see very nice girls with some ugly loosers... why? It's probably because it's their Mom's best friend's son or something. This might also be a village thing. In a big city I could line up 2-3 dates per day, not in the sense of doing the horizontal cha-cha with them, but just going for lunch or something.

So ladies... make yourself available.

In other countries it's just much easier. Girls are much more open. Switzerland is a sex-less desert in many respects. This Summer I am going to Moscow/Kiev... Now THAT'S a guy's paradise.

Well I agree with most of you, with all the respect, as I said earlier, Swiss Guys and Girls are simply boring...unless they have travelled...
I find no connection with the Swissies...and I was born in this country and grew up here...but I am not Swiss and I have travelled and lived abroad quite a lot so that, in a way, saves me :-D
It annoys me too because just to tell you guys the amount of great single women I know is just unbelievable...and they are all wasted on their own....girls who look good, are smart, funny...and single!!!
What a shame really!!!
And yes people forgot how to have a real conversation these days...thats why I personally hate the Internet dating thing...

Laid... sure. I wouldn't mind a relationship either. It's hard to have one with women who live far away from your town and girls here... The less said the better.

I am the biggest gentlemen around. I buy flowers and call the next day. Few seem to apriciate. I find that being a complete do*che-bag gets you more poonany. So women have themselves to blame.

Unlike the Swiss I am not horny only during the mating season (3 days per year) I am more of a 4 seasons guy.
