Any libraries open on sundays?

Are there any libraries in Zurich that are open on sundays?
Just a place to study.

Re: Any libraries open on sundays?

I've never known libraries to open on Sundays in any country so far. I would be surprised, very very surprised if Switzerland was different. You have Swiss down as your nationality, so maybe you know better than me? Perhaps the universities have somewhere open?

Re: Any libraries open on sundays?

So I haven't lived in California nor been to London in a long time. But the countries I have lived in didn't have libraries open. But does anyone know about Zurich? To help the OP out?

None of the libraries I know ( PBZ ) are open on Sundays, but are great for other days ( 15 of them here just in case ).

You can add Canada to the list of countries where libraries stay open on Sundays... at least in both cities I've lived in- Toronto and Vancouver.

Re: Any libraries open on sundays?

Sorry to pull out this old thread but it would be great to get a hint where to work on Saturday / Sundays?

Back in Germany there was the main city library that was opened every day from 8.00 am until midnight (except for Christmas / new years). It had an excellent "atmosphere" as students worked there from morning till midnight (esp. during exam times).

You did not have to be a student to go there and you'd get free wi-fi. Is there nothing comparable to this here?

Thanks to funding from the University of Zurich, the ZB will be open on Sundays from 9 to 17 for a provisional period extending until the end of February 2016.

Re: Any libraries open on sundays?

More and more public libraries open on Sundays. Liestal/Baselland was first, now it's Basel (GGG Schmiedenhof) and Aarau. Next march, Schaffhausen will follow.
