To anyone considering renting a property on the Gold Coast, I have good news...

I am delighted to report that, contrary to previous experience, there is actually evidence of normal human life on the Gold Coast of Lake Zurich.

As I lie here, convalescing after a nasty reaction to a tick vaccination, head throbbing, eyes barely open, I can hear one of my neighbours playing banging techno at a volume not normally associated with the reserved, Zwinglian residents of the outer Zurich suburbs.

I'd put this in the Complaints Corner, if it wasn't for my delight in discovering that the people (or some of them, at least) are actually normal.

So, had you been considering the move to the suburbs, but had been put off by rumours of Salt Lake City-like levels of sobriety in this part of the canton, please think again.

And don't forget to bring your decks.

According to my doctor, you have a 90 - 99% chance of not getting a reaction like mine.

So it's worth it really!

Tell me about it! I'm booked to get the first shot on Friday... if I can summon the courage.

DB, can I come party, er, convalesce in your spacious Gold Coast penthouse, please? Just for a week or two...

Re: To anyone considering renting a property on the Gold Coast, I have good news...

i have normal-ish neighbours too. they vacuum whenever they want, have regular sex (i have paper thin walls)
and they also bring in parcels for me. perhaps DB & I are the lucky ones (0.001%) who actually have normal neighbours?

ok i'd best end this now or i'm accused of being off topic...(but wanted to add i am not so po-sh as DB, i live in ZH oberland, the cow coast...)

Wouldn't that make you the loud one then? (What with the paper thin walls...) If your prowess is ever called into question, I'm sure Swissotter can substantiate your claims.

No need for the '' DB. We all have our little non-vanilla appetites, don't we?

Milk and chocolate, is it then? I'll see what I can do on Friday.
(You wouldn't also happen to have a roll... but there, what am I thinking? Of course such a seasoned homme du monde et de plaisir as yourself will have provided for that.)

why are you being vaccinated against ticks .. ??
