I've since found an awesome antique mall in Geneva with great prices, here: http://www.antiquaires.ch/puces.html
It's actually in Chene Bourg on the same street as the Rolex building.
I never did come back and report after I bought my furniture in December. I did visit this antique mall and it was exactly perfect! Decent prices, great finds and totally worth the drive from Lausanne.

Re: Avoiding Ikea, Finding Antiques. Near Vaud

The furthest you get away from Geneva and the Riviera, the better the prices become and also the better the quality of furniture, etc, available.

There is a great antique shop (M, Richard) in the NE village of Bevaix- and also a great one, but a bit hit and miss, in La Brévine above Neuchâtel- and also a TROC shop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, again, a bit hit and miss, just depends what recently came in. The small medieval towns of St Ursanne in the Jura Canton, and Le Landeron, between Neuchâtel and Bienne, have lots of great antique shops.
