Opinions on Dyson DC24/DC25 Vacuum Cleaner

I would like to buy Dyson DC25/DC24 All Floors Vacuum Cleaner and would be great to hear some reviews/experiences from the members here. Would you recommend it?

Basically I am looking for a upright vacuum cleaner and it would be great to hear your favorite models and app. price of the same.

Cheers
Bindu

Go on to amazon and read the reviews. People say they are heavy and noisy, that's why I didn't get one.

I went for a Kärcher - and it really good, especially for Play Doh, rice and cous cous that my son gets everywhere.

I found the best reviews for dyson when i was looking for vacumn cleaner as opposed to electrolux. What model Karcher did you get and how much did it cost you?

After looking just at suction strength and weight I went for the T 7/1 that was around CHF 220. The simplicity of the way the tubes slotted togther(turning to secure) and didn't click together means that they can never break. I have 2 other ones at home where I was forever loosing the head under the couch or the tube would come apart in my hand and bang the floor, making a dint in my wood floor . The tube and cord are long enough to do my stairs and at 5.2 kgs it is very light considering the suction. No cord rewind either - you wrap it up yourself and hang it on the back. That was what broke on my other ones too.

This model has a huge bag and you can take the bag out and use a net to pick to leaves/dirt from your terrace/patio/balcony.

They hardly ever promote this model in their brochure because it never goes on sale and when we went into the shop they tried to sell us the more expensive click-system ones that are CHF 400 plus. The best thing about it is the suction - and I never have to go over the same spot twice. It has even sucked a plastic bag off some onions inside a kitchen drawer

Sounds good and practical, will have a look at this for sure. One other problem is we might re-locate and wanted to buy a brand that has more international warranty. But at 220chf I could always sell it when moving. Thank you

Re: Opinions on Dyson DC24/DC25 Vacuum Cleaner

I have the compact dc24, im very happy with it indeed. sure the guy in the shop tried to sell me a karcher, but i liked the dc24 a lot and went with it. no regrets, especially for a small or mid sized apartment with wooden floors, which covers the majority of swiss living spaces, it seems to me.

it also takes up very little storage space in my cupboard.

prima!

My husband bought for me, before I arrived a Miele s57 something. It is the best vacuum that I have ever used. It is not an upright as I do not like them, they tend to spit everything out at you. This model has a special brush for tile and the normal rug/wood floor brush. I don't know what it cost but I am very happy with it.

Re: Opinions on Dyson DC24/DC25 Vacuum Cleaner

I have two Dysons, not uprights, DC 21 Motorhead, and DC 22 Baby.

I had a Dyson upright in Japan. It weighed a ton and was really noisy but was very effective.

Yes, they are noisy, but they are great machines, complete with a 5 year warranty.

Before the Dysons, I bought a Miele Cat and Dog and an AEG Vampyr Oko. ( I still have both as I haven't been able to sell them ). Both are supposed to be great machines if you have pets....they are decent but don't compare to the Dyson. They are much quieter though.

Re: Opinions on Dyson DC24/DC25 Vacuum Cleaner

We've always had Dyson vacuums in our house, and my wife recently bought a Dyson DC25 that she says is the best one we've ever had. She bought it online at a website called max-vacuum.com, which she says has the best prices of any site. She also told me they gave great customer service.

Please understand that I'm a stay-at-home Dad, while my wife works full-time as a lawyer. That means that I'm actually the one using the vacuum cleaner most of the time. WHen it comes to shopping for good values for our home, though, I trust her instincts more than my own. This Dyson DC25 has been great so far, so apparently I made a wise choice letting her pick it out and order it.

Not only did she get a high quality machine, but the money she saved seemed to make the freshly vacuumed carpet in our den look that much cleaner!

Dyson customer service is fantastic. The cable winder wasn't working on the DC22 baby so I called, they mailed me a box with a shipping label to use. I sent it back on the 19th and I already received the machine back this morning. There was no charge for anything. The machine has a 5 year warranty!
