| | | What up with the winter clothes when it's 80 degrees outside?
Why are the people I see out and about on the streets already dressed like it's the dead of winter? I'm making my daily trek to the grocery in my happenin' Madras shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of Rainbows and I am sweating. Sweating, I tell you, because it is a beautiful, warm day and the sun is shining. All around me, no matter if young, old or in between, there are folks in leather jackets, long pants and scarves wrapped around their necks like so many hangman's nooses.
What gives with the dress code? It's hot outside people!!
Obviously, there is some RULE that I have missed.

Me or them? Besides, girl, I think we have to at least have gotten drunk together before we start bringing up our personal hormonal situation. I'm thinking you are a scarf wearer.

You Europeans. These are Rainbows. Every self-respecting 'Merikun who lives in the warm states has them in both black and brown.

This amazes me also! I went for a walk by the the lake here in Geneva during my lunch hour. I saw several people wearing winter coats. Most of the people were older, but I did see one man in his 20's wearing a parka with a fur lined hood. Stranger yet, they did not appear to be bothered by the heat.

I think there is a rule somewhere that says you have to wear winter clothes from 1 Sept.... Also that you can't swim in the lake before June...
I think its written in swiss german which is why, I too, am still in tshirt and sandals! |

This time of year is a PITA, it's too cold not to wear a jacket when leaving for work, but too hot for one when you go home. However, to be out wearing one by choice in the middle of the day seems a little bizarre.

Exactly why I have a Freitag bag, it's big enough for most of my wardrobe. | Quote: | | | | | In all fairness it was 10 degrees here this morning,so maybe they left their homes in the morning. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | This time of year is a PITA, it's too cold not to wear a jacket when leaving for work, but too hot for one when you go home. I have to admit to doing this while I was still in Switzerland. But then, I was trying to acclimatise to living in Sydney before I moved out here...
