| | | Coop and Migros Home Delivery in English please read
Hi everyone,
as you know both Migros and Coop do food home delivery BUT only Migros has the site in English.
Many of us also want Coop home delivery but need the English translation to be able to proceed with an order.
I have contacted Coop and they have advised me that if they get enough requests for an additional English translation to their site they will seriously consider adding it.
Please can you help by e mailing them to the address below your support for an English translation and also forward on to as many people as possible
Thanks
Caroline

Good initiative. Reply to them you've posted this on Switzerland's premier English language website and don't they know the demographics? I really wonder if Swiss marketing departments ever open their eyes when they're on the street...

And let's hope if they manage to do it, they don't default to French when there's no English translation. Drives me nuts on the Migros site.

Done the same and e-mailed them and said that there are many commercial websites in Switzerland now adopting English as a 4th language on their websites! If Migros can do it so can you!

If this works out I fear for the next generation of expats. Migros and Coop were my two biggest motivators to learn German...

I emailed them also. With winter coming I'm not looking forward to carrying my groceries home up the hill from the bus!
Mathnut does have a point - I have learned a lot from reading the sales listings, but delivery instructions, payment methods and business transactions, I'd be much more comfortable knowing what to expect. |

I just emailed and asked them to tell me how many requests they've had so far.
I also thanked them for introducing the Backerman sliced loaf but highlighted the fact that it's not shown on their online shop yet.
Thanks for raising this TM.
I added you some rep for your initiative (especially seeing your last post about Ticino. May soften the blow).

Maybe we should've added read receipts to track how many emails they read to fire back at them if they say they haven't received enough requests.
Will let you know if I get a reply.

I have emailed them and pointed out that they stock many foreign foods, including English branded items so clearly they see a market for English speaking shoppers and should therefore update their website accordingly. I threw in a comment about their major competitor Migros being ahead of them in web terms.
Hope it helps, great idea | | This user would like to thank igirlzoe for this useful post:

Good idea OP, lots of people would benefit from this. Ignore all the "I fear for the next generation" comments, not everyone has a instant talent for languages, and not everyone knew any before coming here. While we should all be making an effort to learn the language of our host country, crucial things like doing the shopping is not something you should have to struggle with on a daily basis, especially when you and your family rely on it. The language will come in time. | | This following 5 users would like to thank Richdog for this useful post:
