Does anyone knows about local online newspapers in english??

I mean local because the big intl news can be followed in any newspaper, and I can read in the mexicans newspapers as well, but I was linving in Sweden thelocal.se was a great option to find out about whats going on in the society and then be able to talk about this things...

The newspaper was directed more about things happening in the Swedish environment, like the wedding of the crown princess, situations at volvo, things about the inside politics...you see what I mean?? Very specific Swedish situations that you wouldn't find in big newspapers in english and that are good to know so you can talk about with locals and not just stare when conversations goes in that direction

I know the newspaper also exists in germany and when I tried thelocal.ch it showed "under construction" and directed me to here and thats how I actually find out the forum.

I also tried www.baz.ch/englishcorner and www.nzz.ch/english but doesnt works and i tried to look directly in the page and was impossible to find anything

so...if you have any links can you share?? Also...if someone out there is reading about this and is involved in thelocal.ch initiative or works in there..let me know becasue i would very interested in contribute!!

I hit http://www.swissinfo.ch every now and then. And although I do not understand German but still find it interesting to turn the pages of 20minuten in a bus/train..

Local news in English for the canton of Zug at www.thezugpost.ch - daily, online.

If you use the Google toolbar you can go to 20min.ch and press the button that says "translate page into English"

You will get something like this:

The list that I put together has generally come from posts within EF. I have no connection with any of them.

They are all national sites rather than regional/local. Possibly the local ones haven't been mentioned often if they are not considered worthy of mention by other members or not often looked at.
