Oh, Lawd, I think I've probably embarrassed a number of Swiss just north of Neuchatel. Mr. Big and I went to the brocante faire or marche aux puces in Le Landeron a few weekends ago. On our way out of town at the main roundabout I spied an antique store and implored Mr. Big to stop.
Outside the shop was a giant concrete planter that had been obviously hit by a car or something, anyway, it was completely cracked in a number of pieces. And, in a very UNSWISS fashion, some enterprising soul had put it back together with vice clamp banding. So, of course, I snapped a photo.
I immediately thought of a hilarious website, thereifixedit.com, where people post pictures of jury-rigged stuff or stuff that's been MacGuyvered and viewers vote on it.
Well, the planter in Les Landeron has almost 300 votes as the best jury-rigging and beats the heck out of the competition. Check it out, it was posted on 10/14 by my son, Colin.
