Surprisingly good service

Last week the windshield on my car was hit by a small stone. First it was just a small "star" but within minutes it became a regular crack.

I called my insurance company (Zürich) the next morning and was told, that I would be contacted by Desa Autoglass within one hour.

Half an hour later I was called and we made arrangements for having the car fixed as soon as next day. They offered to pick up the car at my home or work but I preferred to deliver it myself, as it was on the way to work.

When I dropped of the car at the workshop next morning, they offered to drive me to work. Nice gesture.

I must admit that I was a bit sceptical about having the windshield replaced as I honestly expected to get a car back with dirt marks on the roof lining etc.

However, when I picked up the car after work, the replacement of the windshield was carried out to absolute perfection i.e. no dirty fingers, no stains on the dashboard etc. and in addition, the car had also been washed and vacuumed. I was very surprised as it indeed superseded my expectations.

Excellent service from Zürich as well as Desa Autoglass in Winterthur.

Re: Surprisingly good service

With today's glued windshields there's no "need" for stains, scratches and fingerprints. Before the advent of this technology windshields were held in frames with rubber/plastic bands. The replacement was hard work with rubber hammers and special tools for inserting the final strip of the rubber sealing.

True. I was just surprised that there was nothing at all to be just a little bit annoyed about.

I have been a car owner for 25 years in Denmark and thus been at a work shop at least twice a year. Of these 50+ visits in Denmark I have never been 100% satisfied - not even once. Always something with stains, the work or the bill.

I have had my car at a workshop two times here i CH now and both times I have been 112 % happy about the work as well as the service.
