Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

Hello to all
I plan to write a lighthearted book on being married to a "Swiss" (male or female). This can be a comical situation and I can imagine some great stories could evolve. The book is just in the planning. You could be part of it. Your "story" can be a sentence or a paragraph. Of course I will be in contact with you if it needs to be edited or will actually be printed in the (distant) future....
I am from Canada, and have lived in Switzerland for nearly 30 years. I have MANY stories to tell myself.
If you want to be part of this endeavour, please write me.
Much appreciated!

If you'll be still writing your book in a few years I will ask to my future wife if she want to participate....

(I said in a few years 'coz I'm still looking for...)

Interesting barbwhite.

Are you preferably looking for happlily married partners of Swiss or are you including divorced / ex partners also ?
That would open a pandora's box of compelling stories.

Re: Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

Actually, can't really give away the title (yet) Instead of saying "married" let's call it in a relationship with a Swiss person. (let's be honest, there must be oodles of relationships that crash once people reach the land of cheese and live here for a while!)
barbwhite
so future fiancé(es) dates, boyfriends, girlfriends, newlyweds, separted partners or divorcees welcome.
nb. Tell me you story, but remember a but of "humour" is requested.

@ Barbwith : you should add some chapters with the view of the other party...the swiss married with expat.

and, Mod Nicky, I was serious, I want to get married with an expat.

The flood gates are well and truly open now
I'm sure you could always pop down to any of the Brit pubs for a wealth of stories - all in the name of research of course.

I think Slaphead could get the ball rolling by reminiscing some of his Swiss family Christmas stories?

Re: Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

Yeah, I guess some of that stuff I didn't find funny at all at the time could be funny now afterwards...
But aren't all nations special in their own ways? Are the Swiss really more special than others? At least I know weird stuff from other nationals as well

Re: Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

There's also this book, which is full of people's stories about their intercultural relationships. It's not specifically about relationships with Swiss people, but many of the stories do have a swiss person in them.

I delved into it once. It's not a very typical tale. Not unless you belong to the jet set. There have been a few other books like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Cupids-Arrows-.../dp/3952000221 which helped me a bit at the time

Re: Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

I am currently looking at dates for a wedding to my swiss partner. I already have enough stories regarding the inlaws to fill a chapter or two. Reading the book could put the date back indefinitely...!!

Re: Married to a Swiss, Tell me your story!

These stories don't have to be "negative" just amusing, informative, lighthearted.
You can email me directly.
I don't intend to do a copy of any of the mentioned books, this should be a collection of stories of people "in - or out of love" with a Swiss.
Give it a thinkover.
(You can always write ABOUT someone you know, a couple a relative, a friend....)
come on, keep the mails coming.
Appreciate it!
