maybe its their way of saying that you look far too good to be working with them mere mortals

work in private banking and everyone is allowed to look good.

right so after every few hours or so of sweating at work or in town they run to the shower?? they spend the day in sweaty jeans. theres no two ways around it. its horrible.

and eh..don't know how much i sweat compared to others lol! but usually jeans in the 30°+ sun is a given sauna for anyone!

My best friend is Swiss and he only sweats when he's ill. We moved 50 banana boxes of books and magazines up 2 flights of stairs once; I was soaked and he was dry as a bone. Bizarre.

I'v always wanted to wear thigh high white cotton leg warmers- you must have long very slim legs.- so cute!

They are fit- they cycle 20 miles to work take a quick shower and change.

if anyone asks me if I'm cold (or more likely about my kids who are really hardy) I tend to say 'not at all, I'm British'. Somehow people kind of accept that the Brits have a genetic imperviousness to cold and damp so they just nod their heads as if to agree 'of course'.

I usually get the:

"You look extremely cold, I be you could cut glass with those"

not sure if to be offended or become a museum robber.

However, I do know many non Swiss wearing their jeans till the pants can stand on their own..

When they stand on their own it's time to wash. When they move on their own it's too late .

Yes, I am cold!


If I dress to be comfy going outside, I am roasting once I get indoors (grocery or cafe), meanwhile, if I dress to be comfy inside, I am freezing outside!


Meanwhile, I HAVE picked up a cute woolen skirt and some tights that should go nicely with a short-sleeved sweater I already own... I'll try out one such outfit for comfort before investing in more. (I am really tired of wearing jeans and sweatshirts all winter and it's only my 2nd winter here!)

I think that thermal underwear is sexy- must be a sign of age. I love angora and cashmere and alpaca and persian lamb and beaver and miink and ermine and all those endangered species. So light and soft and warm- gives me a fuzzy feeling!
