I am moving in the coming future. And I am thinking of selling my piano, some furniture, and other household stuff. Could anyone tell me good and safe websites for selling stuff like these? And do I have to pay any additional charges?

pay commission. Ricardo is far more popular here than eBay. Because they verify addresses by sending a letter initially to activate the account, it's a little "better".

You could try craigslist - it's free to place ads - www.craigslist.org (SWITZERLAND, ZURICH).

It's THE place to sell, buy, rent or even find a job .... in California in any case - and it is slowly picking up here in CH.

Hi! Depending on whereabouts you are, WRG in geneva have a good website and a good classified section. They also advertise things on their radio station too. Never tried it but it's a suggestion.....

You could also try your luck on our "For Sale" section .

The Interio website (www.interio.ch), has a section called möbelbörse, where you can buy and sell used furniture, etc.... and it's free.

I have to say that I have been a member on the ricardo.ch - Einfach, günstig, sicher kaufen und verkaufen auf Ihrem Schweizer Online-Marktplatz. and has found it really good. Been selling and buying stuff. You can get good bargains and until now... thank God it has been a good experience in meeting up with good byers and good purchasers. They even has an evalutation list for all users, and at a certain level of complaints submittted in, ricardo will stop your membership and will block your activities. I find it is good to promote serious members within the
website. Once I submitted a complaint to ricardo regarding one buyer who did not want to pay up, apparently it was not the only complaint they have received. So they stop his activities and the buyer called me up to apologize and ask me to give him another another chance, which I did and the ricardo team "released" his membership again.

Be careful with Ricardo, no one speaks English for support, buyers can place bids and never become under fire for not buying what you sell (happened to me three times), it is only in French and German, so when you place an ad, don't write the search heading in English or it wont get found when others search. My experience, less headaches to throw it away!!

At least give things you can't sell/give away to the charity shops. They will come pick up the stuff if you give then a few weeks notice. (I.e. they won't come at the last minute.)

If you're living in Bern, there's a shop in Breitenrein called "Speedy Cash". Perhaps you could try to sell your wares there.
