Should I put vegetables & fruits outside as it is even cooler than in a fridge?

I am coming from a hot country and I just observe that people here do put their drinks outside at the balcony, should I also put vegetables and fruits outside instead? The temp at home is quite warm due to the heater so I cannot store them just in the kitchen but then putting them outside also seems too freezing cold. Where shall I put them or should I just place everything inside a fridge? (which include those that i do not normally put inside a fridge, such as onion etc)..

I am just a little bit confused with the heater and cold weather so forgive me if this question sounds as odd as it can be. Thanks!

Turn down your heater and dress warmly.

As long as it's not freezing, your fruit and veg should be fine.

My dad, ever the spendthrift, will buy two turkeys around Thanksgiving and toss one out in the snow in the backyard until Christmas.

I sometimes put my drinks outside, especially if having a party because my tiny fridge doesn't hold much but fruit lives in a basket on the kitchen counter and veg lives in the crisper in the fridge if it's not used the same day. The best option, is really to shop often and always have fresh produce on hand.
