Where to get rid of Coop online delivery bags?

We use the coopathome online delivery service fairly regularly, and have built up a fair size collection of delivery bags, which needs disposing of.

There are two types - the standard paper bags, and insulated plastic ones for frozen goods.

I guess the paper bags can just go out with the usual paper collection, but I'm not sure of the best place to get rid of the frozen food ones.

Does anyone have any good tips?

Last time I got a delivery I just asked the delivery person to take the old ones back with him...

I didn't know they'd do that! Did that include the freezer bags?

Yep, that was specifically the freezer bags (the paper ones I just recycle with the regular paper stuff).

My coop delivery driver waits for me to unpack the freezer stuff so that he can take them away immediately!

Looks like we'll have to ask ours next time. We've got quite a collection building up in a cupboard..!

Re: Where to get rid of Coop online delivery bags?

We do what Seeingbee does when we use LeShop (Migros).

They usually pick up the freezer bags next time, while we use the paper bags instead of string for our carboard recycling...

I do find the packaging wasteful, but sometimes there's no other option...

do what we did... cut them open and stick them together to make a "futuristic" silver carpet.

Re: Where to get rid of Coop online delivery bags?

The paper bags would be welcomed at a brockenhaus (second hand charity store)...the silver bags I'd send back to the coop...

Migros charge a 5chf deposit on the silver bags, so of course it makes sense to send them back...

de-sticker them before you send them back (ours have our name on them)...

Doesn`t COOP charge for the freezer bags just as Migros does? I still have a Migros freezer bag sitting here from years ago when I once ordered. Thes said I would get a credit on the next order when I returned it. Despite all the emails they send me, I have yet to order again. I have also never used the bags again as I have much better insulated bags from Costco that I use for shopping. The Migros freezer bag is quite rigid.

As for the paper bags, when they start to fall apart I use them for the papers I shred and then take to recycling.
