Ten reasons to leave Switzerland for the US

1. Common courtesy is indeed quite common
2. Finding a parking spot isn't like going on a scavenger hunt
3. If you are not satisfied with a product/service you won't have to bring 2 lawyers and an arbitrator just to get your money back.
4. I can purchase anything, anywhere at any given time.
5. Unlike here, smiling isn't heavily taxed
6. Buerocracy (I don't need to bring 6 pieces of ID, 2 blood samples and 3 urin samples just to apply for an apartment.)
7. Availability of Sports Facilities (I don't need to join a club where I have to pay 550Chf for a membership just so I can participate in some team sports.)
8. General respect for authority (i.e, I can attend a sporting/social event, knowing that my safety is guaranteed)
9. I don't need to kiss a semi strangers 3 times on the cheek just to greet them.
10. People mind their own business and won't stare at you for every possible thing.

Sorry to seem nasty, but if you're so unhappy here why don't you just leave?

There were 2 threads prior stating reasons to leave the UK and the States for Switzerland and I just dropped down 10 reasons to leave Switzerland for the US. Where do you read me being unhappy?

Agreed but those hugs in the US are pretty disgusting too.

Well, but people in general aren't as touchy-feely as they are here....this one dude whom I've known from way back rubbed my arm and touched my belly while he complimented me on how fit I look. I have gay friends...but this unwanted contact I do not agree with lol.

If all the cranky Brits left, that would brighten the place up considerably.

There are definite pluses on both sides of the pond for sure.

The people in the US are much more open for sure and not
so narrow minded.

I was just being sarcastic. I agree with you list though (I have been in the US for 22 years). Unfortunately, the US is getting a bit more like Europe in the friendliness category at least on both coasts.
It is also not that easy as an immigrant with limited English skills. I am sorry to say that you do get ripped off repeatedly by a lot of people in the US when you are a naive immigrant. I had a very difficult first year I must say.

Certainly, the south is very welcoming.
My first year was in a NYC suburb. It was awful.

Totally agree! had my share of this experience in a Taco bell in Miami.
