Notice period when leaving a firm in Switzerland

I know it's in my contract but that's at home and I'm just wondering now - if I wanted to leave a company in Switz, what's the normal notice? 3 months? Like in the US

And if a company wants to get rid of you, what's the normal notice they have to give?

Re: Notice periods to leave a firm in SW

No one gives three months notice in the US (employer or employee)

Re: Notice periods to leave a firm in SW

Notice period normally works both ways so if you have to give three months, so does the company.

I guess there is also room for immediate dismissal if you punch a colleague or give a copy of the management accounts to a rival firm, of course...

Why not ask your HR for a copy of the contract if you can't wait till you get home. People on the EF would only be able to guess what's in your contract.

And how long you have been with the company. You normally have a week's notice period during your probationary period then you normally work up to three months notice period over the next couple of years.

Some of this stuff will vary from firm to firm, though.
