| | | Re: Unusual Life...a note we all should read... | Quote: | | | | | Life is an adventure. Life is incredible. When you think of the immensity of the universe: around 50 billion light years across, in existence for about 13.5 billion years, number of stars (suns) in the visible universe: 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that's 10 to the power of 23). Yet here we are, in the periphery of an arm of an obscure spiral galaxy called the Milky Way (about 20,000,000,000 solar systems), on a little ball of dirt called earth. Earth which is about 4.5 billion years old.
Just the fact that we exist is mind-boogling. Life is so interesting, so much to know, so little time. Yet many are so myopic and only concentrate on their tiny world, just like ants.
Enjoy every sunset, everyday of good health, every walk in the woods, every book you read. Make the most of life. Be curious, read, learn, observe, taste, feel. In short live and be happy you are alive, and in a safe country with enough to eat, a good standard of living, no war. Live life to the full ! | | | | | What a load of twoddle. |

Even though I am old (37 ) I still actively seek out new experiences, same as kids do. Only last summer I build my first kayak and had a lot of fun learning how to get in (took me 2 hrs of falling out before I could start paddling the first time, so much fun !). End of last year I ordered my first automatic car, I am soo much looking forward to it ! And just last month I bought a rifle, only two days ago I had my first shooting experience. This summer I hope to drive my car to either Spain or Sweden, both countries I have never been to. I am also very much looking forward to seeing Zermatt and the Matterhorn, places I still haven't been to after living here more than 5 yrs.
Point being, even as an adult you can still have the excitement of discovering new things, same as when you were a child. maybe this is why my GF often says I am a bit like a child

My life dreams:
- Get out of the USA and live in Europe (check)
- Backpack around the world (check)
- Have kids (check)
- Buy a house (check)
- Save up a million francs (well, give it about 5 more years)
- Find a high-paying low stress job doing what I do best (check)
OK, now what.

it all seems to come around in a big circle ; about five years ago i had it all , big house, beautiful wife, dodgy car , two great children and then i was operated on in hospital ( thankfully ) to have a tumour removed. at the same time mrs bad hare day the first decided to send a friend to visit me ( all tubed up and nowhere to go ) to let me know she was leaving , taking my best friend with her. excellent timing. a year after that ( i could not work , bar some low level modelling ) i had nothing....big house , no furniture. two children still , but one no longer wanting contact , possibly on drugs . but eventually i did get to appreciate the important things in life , like relationships ( both children now on speaking terms ) and life itself .
now i'm back where i was about 20 years ago , working , just , but life is still wonderfull ; there is a new mrs bad hare day and she is wonderful too. work is plentiful, and although its important , i dont get so hett up and worried about it if things dont go as expected. i'm not making light of it , but hey .....money , fame and fortune are all temporary ; respect , love and faith are more permanent and more important.

It is good to embrace weird moments in life that put things into perspective..
When I was a child I didn't have specific dreams on what to become and what to achieve. But clearly remember the urge and believe in oneself that whatever life brings will make sense and that I will always stay true to myself and get myself into an interesting enough trouble.
I can't forget the drive to do things as it is engrained and the desire to live to the fullest, it is not really curbed by everyday responsibilites or lack of time. One just have to be creative juggling it all..
Now. Anybody heard about a quirky enough guitarist? Who wants to start dying yarn and spinning? Can I fense wearing glasses? Who is up for a major hike with kids in about two weeks? OOooh, I haven't camped out for ages...Camp camp camp!

| | | Re: Unusual Life...a note we all should read... | Quote: | | | | | We're all very, very busy. We have emails to answer, planes to catch, phone calls to make, member of more than 10 Internet forums, planes to catch, and we're constantly reshuffling schedules to squeeze in new meetings, each more important, more urgent than the last. But every now and then, we get a signal: life should be more satisfying.
Have you ever found yourself counting up the days to the weekend--- and it was only MONDAY?
We start searching for daily pleasure to reward ourself for just getting through another day: ice cream, Starbucks, shopping, or going out for dinner. Some people even believe that a two week vacation once a year is enough to keep them feeling happy and fulfilled. is it right that we spend so much time planning our next escape?
When we were small, we blew out the candles on our birthday cake believing that all of our hopes and dreams would become real. And when Jimmy cricket urged us to wish upon a star, we all tried it, at least once. So when exactly did we stop wishing? When did we start doing the things we had to do instead of the things we wanted to do?
When did our dreams get buried under the responsibilities of adulthood? Now we sense that something needs to change, but we're too busy to stop and think about what it is. We long for those forgotten times when each day's accomplishments filled us with joy and excitement, when we embraced life with energy and enthusiasm, when there were million special days. The first day of school, the night before our fifth birthday, summer vacation, our first kiss...all of these were momentous achievements that make us feel almost giddy inside. But now we sometimes feel as if we're stuck in a great big rut and, as the years go by, the rut keeps getting deeper and deeper. We sense loss, understanding that we were meant to do more. Our dreams feel so far away and always seem to be just out of reach. But they're silly dreams, we tell ourself. Get real. After all. we have a job: earning a living, we have responsibilities, we can's go off chasing crazy dreams. Besides, It's scary to think about going out on limb. But the dreams just won't go away and they keep popping up, wish we had anti pop-ups. If only dreams came with a guarantee. Then we'd be as secure as we're now. Our job is secure, Right? Wouldn't it be awful to live our whole life and then say, wai wai Wait! I need another chance. I just wanted to try this one thing.
Remember how scared we were to take the training wheels off our bike? or how much courage it took for that first kiss? Nothing stopped us then.
So what's stopping us now? | | | | | I hate it when people copy and paste stuff straight out of other websites and give the impression it all their own ideas: http://www.news.az/forum/index.php?/...__0&#entry910? | | This following 5 users would like to thank AbFab for this useful post: | |

On the other hand, look at the response on this forum and the original one. He got one person commenting, our "cheater" got ton of thoughts back...
