Thanks for popping in to Kennedy's last night, hope you enjoyed yourself - shame the result didn't go your way.

Really impressive win by Suisse tonight, utter domination...3-0 but could've easily been double that...Undefeated run in this Championship continues...Final tomorrow versus the home side, Sweden

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Yeah, the penalties are hurting them but the refs aren't helping either, IMO...Still, momentum really shifted after those first 5 minutes...Suisse have 20 minutes to turn things around, wonder if Simpson has a plan for how to get back in this

Most other sports are fairly well represented here and I thought we should have a hockey discussion thread, with the business end of the season looming and the following to discuss:

Olympic Hockey - who will win? Can Canada do it on home ice or will the Russians be too powerful? Can the Czechs or the Swedes pinch it? How will the Swiss do?

NLA - 2 games left in the regular season (after the Olympic break), will Bern crash out in the first round again? Anyone else hoping ZSC get stuffed? I'm hoping Zug get 3rd place but would settle for 4th and a series against ZSC.

NHL - just under a third of the regular season left and it's getting tight. The Caps look unstoppable (won 14 straight!) - can they keep it up and win the Stanley Cup? Will the Sharks bottle it again? Can the Pens be the first team in years to win back to back Cups?

Anyone else got a burning desire to talk hockey?!
Amazing. At the beginning was a Canadian women (girl in that time) who married a rich chap in Ambri-Piotta. After his death she financed the icehockey-club there and encouraged other bored but rich folks to enter the bandwagon. And now SILVER in icehockey

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

A friend of mine from Ambri played for them for 16 years (18-33), getting his PhD in EE from the ETHZ in the off season.

He was a reverse Expat, going to the US for a few years to work in Rochester after retiring from hockey.

He's 84 now.
