Whilst out shopping with daughter, we stopped to look in the window of the pet shop. Two squirrelly type things mating. Daughter 'what are they doing mummy?' Answer - playing piggybacks. No photographs I am afraid

That reminds me of this young family in Amsterdam who wandered into a red light district. "What's the lady doing in the window?" "She's waiting."
"Why is she in her underwear?" "She's going to sleep soon."
"What's she waiting for then?" "For bedtime, I guess."
"Why does she wait with her curtains open?" "Uh, um..." *cough, cough*

Saw this last week in the Salvation Army bookshop in Basel. Check out the (male) author's name...

For those of you unfamiliar with the German language, the advert on the left is selling a violin from the year 1786 and is asking for Fr 10 000.

The advert on the left is offering violin lessons.

Only in Switzerland will you see a note selling a CHF 10K antique on a supermarket noticeboard.

Saw this wine on offer in Co-op and thought of this thread. Not sure whether the wine is smooth and velvety or just plain ropey though

There is a nice man in Sargans called Ruedi Willie who will lay any type of flooring you need if you pay him enough

Or maybe it means once you have got it to your home, school, office or wherever, you don't remove it again. Hence it is a stationary stationery set.

I knew a salesman who was driving through the sticks to get to an important appointment and realised he had forgotten to bring his notebook. He stopped at a post office in this tiny village in Norfolk to see if he could buy one. He couldn't see any books or even pens on the shelves so he asked the girl behind the counter if she kept stationery.

"Yes" was her reply. "Right up until the last minute, then I go wild"

Or, it looks so dated, it ain't moving.
