Regarding stationary for stationery

The shame is, I saw this same mistake in the latest edition (12th) of Working and Living in Switzerland by David Hampshire; Private School heading p. 122 "Fee aren't all-inclusive and extra obligatory charges are made, e.g. for clothing, health and accident insurance, text books and stationary". I assumed it was just the British way of spelling, like "tyre" for "tire".

hi. remember when Robbie Williams played in switzerland, and he said something like: You swiss are strange: you support a club called Young Boays and you play in a stadium called Wankdorf... Big laughter.

when i came in switzerland for the first time, i saw a van with " ich komme immer" written on it! i do not remember what it was advertising!

i also laugh with all the "thomy" products, as this is exactly how my first name is spelled. and i am a girl. the following dialogue happens way too often:

-what's your name?
- thomy
- sorry?
- thomy, like the mayonnaise
- haha, well but how do you spell it?
- erm....like the mayonnaise
- hahaha
- .....
- but it's not even a girl's name!

Thomy is diminutive of Thomais a Greek girl's name.

I had a friend from Pelopinidas in Geneva, I used to joke to her about the Mayonaise

as a matter of fact, thomy can come indeed from thomais, but also from thomai (which would be the female version of thomas), like it is in my case.
