Same here near Luzern, wil need the gritters out again.

Had a good Ski session yesterday but a bit icy. Avalanche possibilities must be very high?

Re: Anyone reckon there'll be more snow?

Having lived through several blizzards which dumped a couple of feet of snow, I'd not call today's weather blizzard-like, but, someone needs to turn off the snow machine here in Basel.

Re: Anyone reckon there'll be more snow?

I can still hear the trams, so that bit of transport is covered... I'm not a fan of snow in the Unterland but I love the way the town is suddenly much quieter. If only I didn't have to go outside, I've already done the slipping on ice and getting concussion thing this winter...

But the airport open. Flights from Germany with heavy delays, flights from Brussels, Luxembourg and Milano-Malpensa cancelled

Here in Glattbrugg they were busy all morning, and even the old newspapers were taken up.

Re: Anyone reckon there'll be more snow?

its no blizzard...little dusting, flurries maybe...amazing how there is chaos all over Zurich area with hundreds of crashes and like today the VBZ busses not functioning in Zurich. I can just imagine what would happen if real snow came as in a foot or two... national disaster guaranteed

While it of course is NOT blizzard, as blizzards seldom occur in Continental Europe thanks to the West-East mountain ranges (USA = North-South ranges), there were up to three feet of snow in Zurich within less than 24 hours in March 2006. The buses came to standstill first, the trams followed, but the railways, both ZVV and SBB carried on and Zurich-Airport remained open all the time.

In regard to the VBZ, priority are NOT the busses but the TRAMS. Whenever real snow occurred/occurs, the VBZ will concentrate all efforts on the tram-network. For Greater Zurich, the emphasis of course is given to the S-Bahn.

Hundreds of crashes ? Are very good business for the Garages all over the place ! And will reduce car-traffic in the next few days.

3 feet? not bad!
as for the crashes the additional benefit is reduced number of tailgating idiots..biggest cause of crashes after driving too fast for conditions

I'm sure whatever manufacturers, they would be very happy to have their sale increased for even one more day in March:
