This thread is instant weather update

I went into Luzern at 11:30 and the place is dead. I think a lot of people decided they've had enough, even though Luzern itself is mostly wet streets, without accumulation. We're a little higher so there's some snow on the roads. According to the local weather station we have 3 cm snow. According to looking outside, there's partially clear skies and the white stuff is melting.

I bought fondue mix anyway. Last one of the season.

Here's the one for Neuch, ... "It comes and it goes" Dido. Worse than the mood of a woman.

Just came back from Migros with carrots and finally can fit a nose to my snowman to add some personality to my newly constructed friend.

its very bad in Baar, Zug canton. We had about 3 inches of snow in the morning and more coming now

I had to drive over towards Luzern this morning. I left home just as it started to snow and within 30 mins it was some of the worst driving conditions I've experienced in 10 winters of driving in Switzerland.

Okay, not you specifically, but the old sailors lore (halo around the moon), together with my own reckoning, that whatever the weather on the day of the full moon, is a good indication of the coming weather for the following month, according to my observations that is.
It's not 100% accurate, but it serves me well.

We had about 18" this morning then an afternoon break with some sunshine to allow some path clearing. I've just been out with the dogs and it's coming down fast again.

Yes, a nice bit of Atlantic wind yesterday but today changing by the hour & the nights are really cold.

Oh, just looked out of the window & some whispy snowlets.

Red sunset again later & nice bursts of sun (I think) in the afternoon

Yesterday at Flims 3000m with blue sky and sunshine it was bloody freezing out there and windy. Those who used sunglasses felt their eyes frozen to orbits.

Today not a single cloud close to Baden area and the snow starts melting at 300m. Do not underestimate it though. It is still very cold.

EDIT: I'm looking forward to seeing more fresh snow as freeriding only gets better and better

Yeah, and that's at 900m so higher up would have been much more. Yesterday we had loads of skiiers coming down over our field all the way down to Flums. We have a 3 m tall outcrop of rock behind the house and they were using that to jump from. Our 2 Rotties thought that was great fun.

Today is clear blue sky but still very cold and no sign of a thaw.

Sunday was truly AWESOME. Thanks for the snow update Grumpy. I wasn't in Flumserberg but where I was had 45cm of fresh snow no wind, steel blue skies and only about 30 other people.
