Meet my neighbours: The butcher brothers

They are notorious hillbillies who were caught butchering illegally (slitting necks and letting the animals bleed according to Jewish/Muslim old customs)

The police and local vet have now taken away all their animals and the brothers have been slapped a huge fine. They are no longer allowed to keep any animals whatsover, anywhere in Switzerland.

They want to move and nobody wants them.

They come right out of the movie, the Deliverance.

One brother was quote this week saying he's been mentally tortured by all the negative media.

So what was the reason that they killed the animals this way?
Was it to supply the Jews or Muslims (though I understand that a prayer by an official priest is required before the killing) or too tight to take them to the abatoir?

I'd heard rumours about canton Schwyz but never really believed them. How unfortunate, and somewhat embarrasing for me, that the detractors that I laughed at appear to be correct.

They've been butchering meat for the Muslims. Rumour has it they offered some meat to someone who works at Victorinox, the knife factory in Ibach, who then went on to tell the authorities.

So no mention of any charges against the Muslim priest that blessed the animal before it was killed inhumanely or are there a load of Muslims that need to be stoned for not eating properly blessed halal meat?

The difference between the big slaughterhouse in Besançon where Halal-Kosher slaughterin is done under supervision of the French state and the Muslim and Jewish communities (for ex. the Haut-Rabbinat de Paris), and such "privates" is that the professional place conducts business in a way that the animals die as fast as in other slaughterhouses, while animals falling victims to such "freelancers" are to suffer for many many minutes quite terribly. That the two brothers undercut the prices of the official licenced import-stuff is obvious.

That the two brothers could do such things for such a long time however is what is really shocking.

There is no "blessing from a priest". The person who does the cutting says it, and it's only a few words long ("In the name of God, Most Merciful Most Beneficient").

Listen people. I voted for the animal rights thingy at the referendum earlier this month and was scorned at. I rest my case; these Helvetic ZZ Top look-a-likes should stick to beauty pageants.

Monstous occurrences like this are the reason why I hoped for a YES. The ONE person who has that job in the Canton of Zurich is not in pursuit of the ideal world. The problem is that crime against animals does not result in a strafuntersuchung von amtes wegen (ex ufficio) (= automatic prosecution) so that the job of the animal-state-attorney in Zurich is to put such matters up for prosecution by the Cantonal State prosecution. The Federal state prosecution office is NOT supervising the Cantonal ones and has no overruling power, so that such matter are Cantonal anyway. So that the situation in Zurich stays the same, which means fairly positive, while in the Canton of Schwyz, the idea is that "the farmers know best how to treat and protect their animals"

Neither are they Muslims. Jews and Muslims are mentioned as potential customers for low-priced meat, not least owners of Jewish and Muslim restaurants who might have made a good margin that way. That the two brothers did not become rich shows that neither Jews nor Muslims in considerable numbers were convinced by their offer.

I do not believe that their products qualified as either Kosher (any degree) or Halal (any level).
